Plan to attend CURE

NIU’s Conference on Undergraduate Research and Engagement (CURE) takes place Tuesday, April 28, in the Holmes Student Center. With more than 300 students presenting across numerous disciplines, CURE highlights the depth and impact of undergraduate research, creativity and engaged learning. Please plan to attend to support student scholarship and engage in meaningful conversations about their projects and experiences.

The Engagement Showcase highlights leadership, service learning and community engagement, entrepreneurship, internships and civic engagement. Sessions are scheduled for 11-noon, 1-2 p.m. and 2-3 p.m. in the Gallery Lounge. Research and Artistry presentations will be held at the Duke Ellington Ballroom from 10 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m.

Japan runs June 20 through July 2, and Iceland runs August 2 through August 11. Both are great opportunities to earn 3 credits, see a new country, and learn about business practices from global corporations. Faculty: Become a Research Rookies Mentor for the 2026-27 Academic Year

Faculty mentors play an extremely important role in the development of the next generation of researchers.
