
Representatives from Mahidol University (Thailand), Dr. Punchada Sirivunnabood, Dean of Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, and Dr. Patreeya Kitcharoen, Deputy Dean for International Relations, Corporate Communication and Student Affairs for Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, visited Northern Illinois University on Monday April 20 and Tuesday April 21 to explore possible collaborations between the two institutions. They joined NIU leaders, including Lisa Freeman and Laura Elish-Piper, for a Memorandum of Understanding signing on April 20.
Activities included a luncheon with faculty to discuss joint programs and exchanges, a podcast on Thailand’s 2026 elections, and a student meet-and-greet. On April 21, the delegation met with Paul Wright to discuss curriculum in sports management and kinesiology and attended his Southeast Asian martial arts class.
